Welcome Writers and Artists!
CoffeeBeanShop picked up speed with the "Love and Coffee" writing contest in 2001, but the ball got dropped with the Irish Coffee Short Story Contest. The lack of entries were due to a few problems on our end, we're sure, as the topic was tough, therefore the entry numbers were slim, and the money was tight. We hope to have enough cash to do another contest VERY soon. Hang in there. We don't pay for your writing or artwork because we're probably less affluent than you; however, if you're in possession of any form of writing that pertains to coffee and you'd like to see your work online, please feel free to contact us. You now have access to Love and Coffee, Irish Coffee, short stories, and poetry here at CoffeeBeanShop. That's over sixty pages filled with some very delightful, talented, and witty writing. In addition, our past judges, Dr. Laurie Rozakis and Bridget Haggerty, contributed their wisdom to the brew in the non-fiction section. We also have reviews on books and on Web sites. For your convenience, we've included some writer and artist guidelines. Happy reading and writing! Visit our Book Shelf!Yes, our focus is on coffee here at CoffeeBeanShop, but we also love our writers and we want to offer you the best as well. We offer five favorite picks in each category below: Poetry: Specifically, books about how to write poetry. Nonfiction: Or, tools to help you hone your facts. Fiction: Want to write that killer novel? Perhaps our choices will help! Linda's Picks: The choices in this category include Linda's favorites, books that she's used over and over again over the years. In our revised bookshelf we've also included writing books for kids (not how to write for kids, but books to stimulate children to write). Otherwise, take your chances on the other picks, because many "learn how to write" books are somewhat graphic and include information and discussion about adult passions (which may include coffee!). We also have books about coffee, including the business of coffee and more. Look for more books as we grow (like a bean).
