Like the Meth Coffee ads that are showing up on YouTube, Cuppy’s Coffee & More announced the release of a series of video skits that will be placed on the same venue. The 30-60 second spoofs will feature Cuppy, a giant coffee cup, trying to find his place in the corporate office after taking a break from his usual job of “mascot dancing.” Much to the distaste of his co-workers, Cuppy has become part of the every day office culture.
The first skit in the series finds Cuppy trying to write a press release for the marketing department. His co-worker is fed up with Cuppy’s inability to type anything up in a timely manner stating in a confessional, “Why can’t he just use spell check?” Read the rest of this entry »

And, that was the quote delivered by Barry Popkin, a nutrition scientist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, after he heard about Dr. Robert Bohannon’s plan to add caffeine to baked goods. Bohannon, molecular scientist who moonlights as a cafe owner (Sips Coffee & Tea cafe in Durham), can easily put 100 milligrams of caffeine — the equivalent of a 5-ounce cup of drip-brewed coffee — into the treats he plans to market under the “Buzz Donuts” or “Buzzed Bagels” names. This recipe is making the Internet rounds. I wouldn’t trust it (I’m into buying only so many coffee pots per year), but my buddy Taylor Lockwood (Kingdom of Fungi) illustrates the benefits behind this life-savvy dish:
Take one package of Ramen Noodles (package, not styrofoam), break the noodles in half IN THE PACKAGE, open the package and dump noodles into the coffee pot. Fill your coffee maker with water (only about three cups). Turn coffee pot on and allow it to drip. Let set for about 10 minutes so the noodles cook, then drain soup into a bowl. Add the flavoring of your package and any other seasonings you may like. Then eat.
You can do the same in hotel room coffee pots, only break the noodles up a little finer. You might need to add more water after the first pot cooks.

Kristen Ankiewicz (pictured here) is an artist, a writer, and a photographer who seems to capture people on the edge - both literally and figuratively - in her images. In other words, she’s quite creative. So I wasn’t surprised to discover a recipe for “Coffee Yogurt” on one of her sites (links available at the end of this piece), where she mixes a form of home-made espresso with yogurt to create a dish that is healthy and that also will keep the indulger awake all night. She writes:
Note that I am experimenting heavily with the “coffee flavor” part of it. Next step: Instant Coffee. Yes, instant coffee can be risky from a taste point of view, but I am going to try the really gourmet instant coffee. It has the advantage of not watering down the yogurt texture!
On to the recipe (in Kristen’s words):
