Campaign Will Release Short Film on Starbucks Barista Delegation to Ethiopian Coffee Farms and “2006 Starbucks Corporate Irresponsibility Report”
WHO: Starbucks baristas, Ethiopian coffee farmer advocates, labor unionists, and community supporters with signs and banners.
WHAT: A press conference previewing the IWW Starbucks Workers Union and Justice from Bean to Cup! protest the next day at the Starbucks Shareholders Meeting. Current and former Starbucks employees and coffee farmer advocates will tell the true story behind the Starbucks brand; a vastly different picture than the company’s socially responsible image it will showcase at the Annual Meeting.

Coffee Republic has signed a deal with a Turkish retail company to develop the chain in Turkey, the country that invented the coffee house, and said that it was also looking at markets in the Middle East and Central and Eastern Europe.
The coffee and deli bar operator, which ousted its founder, Bobby Hashemi, last year, said that the agreement with Ada Kahve Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Sirketi gives it the right to develop Coffee Republic delis and recruit franchisees to operate the delis in Turkey.
The agreement is Coffee Republic’s second international franchise deal after Bulgaria.
